Talking about any election (Congress or President), I'm afraid that being able to have a look at the live results (once you voted) is unfortunately part of the eRepublik culture by now. But I really think that it makes the elections more tactical and less democratic.

I know we're in a game, and a lot of players would probably value overall the tactical picture of the actual situations.

But sometimes, you feel like the winners are not the ones who should have won, that the final figures shouldn't have been the same without that gameplay.

Being organized as a party is a good thing, obviously, but should it be the point that makes you winning an election that you would have lost in a "democratic and blind election" ?

And I'm not even talking about the "buying votes" that this system allows.

What do you think ?

I would like election results to be handled like real elections where you have to wait until they are completed before you can see the results.

the only place you can tactical vote now is in PP elections...and thats crucial if you have to defend from PTO. So no, I disagree with you

The whole fun is that we will be in Tension during the elections ... and find out the results only after the checks of the system.

As Real Life, people don't know the results before the media publish it, so why don't do it in eRepublik as well ?

xMikiGOx, I think we share the same point of view but we misunderstood ourselves.

The whole point is that you know the system once you checked... but in case of well-organised political parties, one player votes and checks, then all the other members knows how it's going on before voting.

Let's take an example :

3 parties : A, B and C.

Current situation in the middle of the elections :

A : 45%

B : 41%

C : 14%

The party C is politically closer to B, so the party C will give up and ask its members to vote for party B.

Without this feature, the final results might be something like this :

A : 44% -> victorious

B : 41%

C : 15%

With this feature, the final results might become :

A : 44%

B : 46% -> victorious

C : 10%

This is just an example, but we clearly see that the whole democratic system can be fucked up.

Kaad, Marishaa, how will it make PTO easier ? I don't get it.

(I repeat that I'm against the live results, I want the results to be shown only at the end of the elections)

if you cannot see the voting for PP, you won't know which party they are taking control in and be able to respond.

Ok Bohemond, understood the point of view, even though it doesn't make me change my mind and I keep thinking the balance of "Live Results system" is very negative compared to a real democratic system.

Tim_Holtz, I'm impressed by your investigation skills. Keep it up with your easy trolls instead of talking of the topic's suggestion.

For party president elections it might not be a good idea.

It only takes a massive vote on 1 target(whether it is a huge party or a small party).

And it's original members would be clueless and completely overtaken.

In other elections it could actually be beneficial as all groups(whoever they are) would have no idea what to expect.

One can always try to count votes, but that will only give a partial idea that might turn out very different from the actual results.

So, for Party president elections -> NO

For congress & Country president elections -> YES

I can see the plausibility behind the idea, but I am uncertain whether it would be better than the current system.
