How about adding groups of countries as a new country in eRep? Those countries must have something in common and of course share border.

For example, "CentroAmerican Federation", with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. All those countries are together between Mexico and Colombia, they speak spanish and their current goverment system is a presidentialist republic. They could have 6 regions, one per RL country.

With this you could get a larger native base for adding new countries, or fill huge holes in the map (hi Africa!)

It isn't really a bad idea, but I don't know if the game system resist that.

It would be nice first to have real countries, and more core regions to the existing ones: it is plain stupid some countries only have one core, when other has 50, for instance. There are countries with only a few real CZ, and several cores, always taken over, when a real community with hundreds of players are struggling with just one core region (example: Uruguay).

I see all the time people talking about 'Macedonia'...isn't that a good enough imaginary country?

I sense a disturbance in the force. A faint screaming noise is coming from somewhere in Eastern Europe.

Could be a temporal status, could be united during a year (while they get a great player base) and after that split them in RL nations.

Actually if a country doesn't have enough players to be competitive in this game, maybe a group such countries would have, can imagine something like African empire/union/kingdom. But to do that you should ask players from those countries if they would like to have such kind of a union (real life players from such countries) - to make sure it would be correct for them
