Recently, the Military Unit module had some nice improvements. Among them, the possibility to set the Recruitment policy :
I think political parties should have a system which is similar. It would avoid many possible inconveniences.

It sounds like a good idea.

I would like to see the Parties gain the ability to remove a member like MUs can currently, the invite only option would solve that problem nicely....

You're right Drew Blood. But actually, having a way to restrict the access or the ability to remove members, I think both options are complementary.
But no matter the way it is done, the idea is for political parties to stop being an "open bar" in which people are getting in and out according to their individual objectives (elections bonuses, PTO, ...). Thus, it would allow the party creator to carry a deep political project safely.
But maybe the problem is different wether we're in a big or a small country. Don't have enough experience about this.

I have always felt that it was simply to easy to move back and forth between the parties. One restriction I would like to see implemented is a 'voter restriction' of 30 days. Ex.: You move from the WTP to the FEDS, for 30 days you may not vote in ANY election. The same type of restriction could be placed on citizenship grants, this would do away with the 'Mass Exodus' PTo; added advantage would be doing away with 'voting bot farms' being used to control parties....

i agree with the idea

only worry is if you get an inactive PP...if this did get implemented I would like to see it extended to vPP as well.

I agree with Jeiry idea.

Seems the only ones against it are the ones 'paying' for 'country forums' and who are 'meta players' trying to protect their 'meta power'....

Oh look, people not popular enough to win elections want to do away with democracy.
*gasp*
I think this is for ATO measures, in which case this would make sense.

*gasp*
Oh look, someone who tricked his way into the White House cause he was so unpopular he couldn't manage it on his own and then defected to TWO....
Which would last all of 5 minutes.
You're just butt hurt cause such a rule would kill off those 'Bot Farms' you keep bragging about....

I don't get the points of some people here.
One of the advantages of being allowed to set a recruitment policy is to be able to avoid the PTOs when you create a party. Now, as any features, you can use it in a proper way or not. And if you get PTOed and that this feature is serving PTO's uses later on, that means that first you managed it in a very bad way (and that was supposed to help you at first). So you just have to get mad at yourself, without claiming that the tools were bad.

If the party is under TO and the party president can expel members it will be VERY BAD, because he can expel all members of the party.
Miauuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

Yeah but... what about PTOs ?
These rules would not end the PTo, it would simply make it much more difficult; it would eliminate the importing of foreign citizens like RGR does...
Bringing citizens here that have to remain here for 30 days before they can vote would be a great deal harder than bringing someone here for one day to vote...
Stop using logic.
Yes, instead be a backstabbing liar who sells out his country for a seat in the Parliament of a TWO country....
