eRepublik provides, in a way, a second life, a virtual one but based on real life concepts - work, eat, train, buy, fight. In order to complement this better it would be a good idea to let us, citizens, sleep. How would it work?
Every citizen would be allowed to sleep once per day for up to 8 hours. When asleep, the energy "reserve", i.e. the amount of energy a citizen can recover, would have no limits. For example, I have 800hp with 200hp more available to recover. I go to sleep mode and wake up 8 hours later. Now I have still 800hp and can recover 200hp+800hp (8x100hp/hour assuming the standard regeneration rate) or +1600hp (double regeneration rate).
Once elected to sleep, the account would become "passive" or "read-only". A sleeping citizen would not be permitted to take any action, like eating, buying, working, fighting, commenting. Basically, all action buttons would become disabled except one - wake up. Once woken up, the account would go back to normal and the sleep would not be available until the next day.
A possible drawback would be morning BH hunters with 80 hits more. Allowing us to sleep would improve the economy, because with more available energy each day, we would buy more food and weapons, which in turn would increase the demand and make companies more profitable and jobs better paid.
