Except the implication is that in reality Russia is not interested in protecting people's rights nor people's lives, but moreso interested in protecting its assets in Crimea.
How many lives are Western countries trying to protect when they try to interfere with the politics in the Caucasus, or is it that they are just interested in building pipelines through the area, and don't care how many people can end up massacred or killed?
