I would like to propose a first draft of a Stock market.

It would not only strength the game but also help to interlock the economy module with the military and political module.

I have been active in the stock market for some time and would like to bring this idea to this game.

Draft:

You should be able to buy shares of countries and depending how strong they get the price would rise or fall.

How would the strength be calculated?! I am not sure at the moment but it would be depending on territory, population, gold/cc, etc.

For example:

I bought Polish stocks because I think that they will get a lot of new terroties with the new government.

So I will use all my weapons to fight fot hem. This means a lot of damage for them and also helping my stocks to rise.

But than there are different players with different vision.

Weaker countries would benefit from this since in the stock market it is about future.

I would like to hear comments and suggestion about how to improve or change it.

Appreciate all progressive comments!

Expand your idea to companies and it just might work.

Hi Flaco Jimenez,

Thanks for your comment.

I do not think it will work for companies.

First of all, 1 player has in approximately 10-50 companies (just my best guess).

So you would have a big number of companies in the stock market.

Furthermore, how would you determine if they are doing well or bad?

The companies outcome is related to the country and its bonuses.

Therefore I think country shares would make more sense.

Some king of treasury papers.

This would bring the idea of countries be able to sell and buy their own treasury bonds.

Any comment is appreciated!

This is a very nice though from you EmparioZ. This ideas they may bring new things to the game like proposing numbers of country bonds, also they may change the monetary market because they may sell their gold in lower prices than before. I believe that even if eRepublik is based now on the army thing we can change it and doing it as an economic and military thing together. This may bring tools like the hospital and the defence shield back in action.

This would only really work with companies but as you said there are too many to make it work as it stands.

I think it is a great idea. with that wonderful idea you propose could revive the economy a bit stronger.

and not only that. it would be very good that each player has the opportunity when you create your company that will decide whether only the sole owner or shareholders may have and keep your business in the stock market. this would be a topic to discuss and I think it should eRepublik have very encenta.

Translated with "google translate"

If i can do that with google, then you should not have any problem doing the same.

The translation doesn't have to be perfect.

A reminder!!!

If multiple factories and resources could be incorporated into the one company (similar to how orgs used to operate) it would easily work. It could be a separate module like MUs or political parties are, but instead of a list of members there would be a list of shareholders, each with how many shares they own. Releasing new shares for sale could be voted on by the existing shareholders, who also elect a CEO to run the day to day business.

I love the idea of government bonds, it could also open the way for a banking system with loans, and each individual, organization, MU, company, or country could be given a credit rating which is calculated from their economic activity.

A great idea. But I am against countries really.

Look at this scenario,

Country 1 and Country 2 have an alliance/MPP/some other form of mutual understanding.

Country 1 and country 2 both buy all the stocks of country 1, and then country 1 attacks country 2 (like current training wars), which results in stock price rise. Now both sell all the stock, and buy country 2 instead. Now country 2 attacks country 1 and increase their share prices. This way both countries benefit with absolutely no end to the cycle!

I would rather have a similar concept on different aspect.

Stocks of players.

Every player has a value. With growth of the player his stock value rises, perhaps monitored via some daily actions or how much player fights, companies etc. So basically net worth. A player must always retain his 51% stock, rest all can be offered on market. Then it works like normal market, people wait to purchase stocks, and can't till there's a seller. This means younger ones would provider more value for money, hence helping them to generate enough cash at start to retain interest.

Middle level people are where there's higher volatility and higher prices. But at this stage people are already self sustained, due to lower ROI as to young citizens they'd mostly hold majority of their own stock, and would probably only let out stocks if they urgently need cash. They'll have to be social and ask someone to buy their stock, increasing their involvement in the game.

Elite level people would probably be like debt funds. Stock is secured, but grows steadily too. Also considering they'll have higher NAVs, possible ROI wouldn't be too high either.

While young citizens provide quick growth of money, it also has higher risks since no one buys stock of dead citizen, Middle level is the volatile stock yet you can expect some better security than young ones, while elite be the steady secured growth with lower ROI.

This way all ties out to a person, who in turn gets global demand (which is only currently in favor of mercenaries) as net worth can be increased by economical or political aspect too.

Just a thought!
