When late last year the "Send gift to a friend" option was added, it created a new market. People started to send Power Packs/Combat Stashes/War Stashes/Assault Packs/Gold Packs to other players in return for agreed sum of money. I was among the first to trade them.

Now the problem is that these packs aren't cheap. An average price is within 15,000-20,000cc. This naturally attracts shady people - scammers, who accept to buy a pack for someone but, after receiving money, don't buy anything. While in case of other products, like food or weapons, scammers can be totally avoided by using the marketplace, such a possibility doesn't exist for packs. The only way is to do it "under the table".

My suggestion is to support pack trading in the game mechanics. I can imagine at least 2 ways to do this:

  1. In the special items page an option to buy for sale would appear under packs. After buying one, you would be able to post it on the market. The bought pack would be seen in the inventory with an option to use it for yourself, provided you meet the requirements.
  2. Escrow. A seller posts an offer on the market. A buyer makes a purchase and the price is deducted from their account and put on hold. Then the seller has some amount of time (say up to 24h) to buy the pack for real money, which is automatically sent to the buyer. Only then the seller receives the money. There would be a limit of 1 offer per pack type per player in order to avoid abusers. Also sellers not keeping their part of deals would be banned from making further offers on the pack markets.

Also the usual "50% gold back" would apply to these transactions so we would see cyclical price fluctuations.

Advantages for players:

  • Scammer elimination - every transaction is secure so you can't lose money.
  • More competition => better prices
  • Less Pay-to-Win feel, because it would be much easier to buy something that until now has been obtainable for real money only.

Advantages for Plato:

  • More $$$$$$$ - more people would make pack transactions so there would be more real money purchases.
  • Less work for the support as there wouldn't be any complaints about scammers.

As we can see, this is clearly a win-win suggestion for everyone.

In a Browsergame I played before eRep (I got advertised for eRep in it, ilegally :) ),

the implementation of the trade of stuff only being able to be bought for real money

increased their income massively.

So this could also be an idea for the developers to increase their income...

A question is if they would be tradable by using CC or Gold....

Also a question could be the Gold Packs.

Would players pay more per gold due to the 10-Gold-Per-Day-Really-Annoying-If-Have-A-Lot-Of-Companies-Limit.

Or even less per gold when the 50% gift bonus is active.

On the other hand side, this whole new market could really destroy the game by giving real money a too great role.

Remember the times when you could spend money only once per week?

And when you could buy only a certain amount of "First Aid Kits" daily?

That were better times.

You know some people decide to buy themselves a stash because they are affraid to get scammed by paying cc for stash. Your idea is ok but admins are not crazy to implement it because they will sell less stashes then. Also for buyers (that dont need gold fast, and can afford only 10 gold per day transfer) best option is to buy someone stash, get 50 % gold back + cc, so if you make these deals safer then there is no reason for gold buyers to buy gold directly, (for 100 euro you can buy 10 stashes).

Well, no.

It makes no difference for Admins if people are buying stashes/packs directly or indirectly.

In both ways they earn the same amount of real money.

They will earn more, because people who can't or don't want to spend money

can cause income to the Admins by paying someone else with ingame money to pay real money to them.

With that suggestion this becomes safer and easier to do.

Create Stashes.

Alow trade.

Profit.

I think that there isnĀ“t any problem to eR that people buy packs for others, and if there were a official site to do it, where people knew that the other person is a good seller, or that if they "accepted" a selling offer they receive the pack, the people would buy more sure. Better to players (no scammer), better to eR (more activity), better to Admins (more money).

A "pack market" similar to monetary market; you put your offer and how many packs.. etc

How will they sell less stashes? the people that are "afraid" will use the market and someone else will spend the EU for the pack, no loss to Plato.

Worst case scenario: the same amount of packs are being sold, but we gain protection against scammers.
