Overproduction Issue

As a feedback to your "Boost the Economy Days", i think it is not a solution to the overproduction issue.
If you can produce everything you need... how can you expect the market to work?
Check real life... do you know anyone that produce everything he needs for himself? Since food a electronics? Impossible right? Why should that be possible in Erepublik?

I believe the only solution to overproduction is only to allow the player to produce ONLY one type of item from the below:
- Food Raw
- Weapon Raw
- Weapons
- Food
- ...

If its like that, everyone since number 1 to the player placed in 9999999 can only produce one type of raw and use the market to buy the ones he is not allowed to produce.

Implementing this, will make one item to be more expensive than the others for sure... result,the newbies will pick that one because it will bring more profit... That will help them to cut the gap to the older players...

I would recommend to add some more items besides these 4, but keeping always the idea of 1 player producing only 1 type of item. This would help to get more cycles high/low prices on the same item...

the overproduction problem is due to a lot of idiots producing at loss. You are not going to solve idiocy by restricting players to produce only one type of goods.

yup people are very stupid in this game but it doesn't help that it's almost impossible to produce raws at a loss. your only costs in 10 energy and a couple bucks in taxes. just like in RL you need to have companies exit the market and as long as they can produce and sell at .01 and still make profit that is a problem. some easy solutions are to either bump up the energy needed to work or reduce or limit work as manager. also if the economy wasn't too simple like make raws out of nowhere and make weapons and food from raws. theres not much there maybe add different kind of raws or some weps take different kinds of raws. 

 

and relating to the topic i would say i disagree but i think like in RL you can benefit from specialization and in this game you cant. so i would say you need to introduce a system of different quality products and workers and a special production quality that is based off many things

Companies also cost a lot and current ROI is much more than a year.  I also think this would also be a very useless change and doesn't really fix anything.

Have consumption needs increase with every division. This way q1 bread will give division 4 player 1/4 of what it would give division 1 player. It is natural for an elephant to consume more than a mouse. This way, prices will skyrocket and it will become profitable to produce. This will in turn stimulate gold spending as people start building companies to make money.

think not overproduction, think under consumption! 

 

what would happen if a player could fight as long as he had the food and weps to fight? 

 

and could work as long as he had the food to recover the energy  and the manager had the money to pay him?

 

then workers who had little could work a lot, gold prices would skyrocket. admins would make money from selling gold!   all factories would fill with workers. supply would not be able to keep pace with demand! 

 

i know this would not change much. rate of return for factories would be zero, but not because profit was zero usd but because gold would be sky high. back in the days of 3k cc per gold.  .

 

but i guess admins would lose out on eb purchases.  and fighting would be a rich mans war, instead of strong mans.  so i guess lets scrap this idea! 

 

 

if we change the system it would only favor the gold buyers more than it currently does! and most people would not like that

Why don't you develop the option to build more damage boosters in the rocket factory? This way there will be more weapons used and a small step to improve the economy.
