I'll take the word from the admins and I'll make some feedback:

 

1. The update should be expanded to the media module: Only the dictator and his supporters can write press articles (of course, that action can't be disabled later for a former dictatorship supporter who wants a revolution in any moment.)

 

2. As the people said before: the military coups only should be made nationals MU Commanders, not by foreign people.

 

3. Give the dictator the same amount of citizenship passes a congressman have: one.

 

4. Give the countries a second national ORG under control of the overthrown country president but without the "donation" feature. It only will serve for the purpose to protect the National Treasure from dictator's robbery. But to make the things fair for giving the dictator some benefit of the doubt, however, only the 60% of the National Treasure resources in local currency can be transferred to that ORG via issue money law and donation law, with the rest of the treasure for dictator's use. Of course, the Congress shall act in advance before the military coup have success to secure that money. The ORG's "donation" feature will be obtained once the country return to democracy and lost again with a new successful military coup.

let's say revolution should cost nothing but only can be done every 10 days for free, or in 3 days if you can afford 200k ?

 

and defender from coup would make the treasury increase by 200k ?

Beside limiting this thing to people with the CS of the country where the coup is attempted (and maybe  to add a citizenship time and/or level requirement for that too), Plato has to create some lower and upper limits to the taxes and minimal wages, otherwise dictatorships can be used as a weapon to destroy countries, as several people pointed.

 

Looting the whole treasury of nations is weird. Kind of difficult to find a good solution for this, but maybe giving ORGs to all MUs (or letting them buy it) would be a way to avoid this.

thats the entire point.  Let strong raiders take over and then tax countries to death.  Want to free your country from a foreign PTO dictator?  Can't use your working to do it, that's just paying your enemy.  No, your only choice is to win with your Mastercard.

Apologies if someone else has alread made these suggestions, but I propose these changes.

 

1) Cost to start a military coup should be a base amount (say 200k), plus an amount inversely proportional to the target country's active population when compared to the average,

 

2) An MU starting a coup be not only located in the target country but also be required to have a certain portion of its members already be citizens of the target country.

 

3) A dictator should not receive access to all laws and CS passes immediately. His available laws and CS passes should grow to their maximum extent as his reign increases in length. Basically, dictators should be required to hold power a certain amount of time before they can do things like raise taxes or the minimum wage and give out CS. Dictators should have to earn their legitimacy as a ruler.

 

4) Dictatorships and revolutions should be subject to determination bonuses similar to what currently happens with resistence wars.

 

I think that would make these changes viable. As they're currently written, you are basically giving powerful MUs and/or big spenders a game mechanic which will alow them to choke the life out of smaller countries if they so desire.

There should be a punishment for a failed coup. The would be dictator should "go to jail" if the coup fails. That could mean that for one month (or some other period) he can't do anything except log in (no working, no training, no shooting, no trading, no moving).

You do realize that any punishment (many were mentioned) of a failed coup can be easily avoided?

Just put a puppet on the military command and perform the coup.

If it fails the small player will take the heat.

If it succeeds just change back the military command to a bigger player.

We need some system to lock it for the CS of each country, or, like others already pointed, it will be a TO party even in middle sized countries.

There should be CS of player required.

And even then, there's possibility that some moron from Congress will sell CS for 5 gold and leave his country in hands of some other moron.

Congratulations pluto. You can prepare to close this game soon. All small countries will be PTOd, big countries will be watered down because many of players will now live in the PTOd countries, and the only thing that actually keeps players in this game - THE COMMUNITY - will be gone with citizens of all nations living in all countries. Seems like you are aiming for 10 000 active players by the end of 2015. Congrats, you are well on track to achieve it.

ok lets just calm down and relax.  only a countries own mu's can become the dictator.  so they will need atleast 1 citizen in to open the mu there and then can push their dictatorship.  this is what the lazocrats did with south africa why did you not moan unfair then.

Totally different situation. Previously, on order to take over, you need to through the whole citizenship process, get enough members to gain citizenship to be able to anything. Now, all you need to to is get one citizen to create MU in the country you want, join the MU, and get ownership transfer. So, basically, all that's needed is a single citizen owing you a favour (or actually a compatriot)
