A few suggested changes:

3 hour period from the would be dictator pressing the button to the start of the battle:

  1. Extended to 24 hours same as for normal battles. This means both sides can be well prepared and make for interesting and even epic battles.

or

  1. Extended to 12 hours. As above gives time for both sides preparation and can make for really interesting and epic battles.

7 Day Waiting Period If the Coup is Unsuccessful:

This is an attempt to overthrow the current CP and his government. Same as for an impeachment if its unsuccessful another shouldn’t be able to start for 7 days.

7 Day Waiting Period if the Coup is Successful:

To make things interesting if a dictator is successful there should be a 7 day waiting period before a revolution can be started.

Cost of Starting:

The cost is too low. It should be at least 500 000 cc.

Military Unit Starting It:

  1. The military unit must have existed for at least 30 days before the commander can start a coup or revolution.

  2. The commander has to be in office for at least 30 days before he can do so.
  3. Citizens should not be able to create Military Units in other nations without the citizenship. Citizens would still be able to join one anywhere but creating one outside your citizenship should be impossible.

Thank you and have fun! :)

"Citizens should not be able to create Military Units in other nations without the citizenship."

They already can't.

But it would be good if you couldn't start a coup if you don't have citizenship of that country.

Well done Helen

I agree all suggestions.

Also I think that price of coup should depend on country power.

It is shame to have the same price for Serbia and Denmark :)

They can't create MU but they can buy it so there is no help...

MU commander can start coup if he has minimum level 100 and CS of that country.

Price should depend on country power and taxes not less than 1.000.000 cc for Serbia lets say...

If coup is not successful dictator wannabe should face penalties - loss of 50% strength and 10% of XP.

1. A Congress Vote for open a new Military Unit

2. The price from a Revolution against the Dictator should be between 100 to 150K

3. foreigners are able to fight but not take power without CS - clear for became Commander from a Military Unit you must have the same CS

A MU can not start a coup directly after a failed one started by them. They have to wait 30 days or until after another is attempted.

Cost of starting revolution is to low. It should be at least 1 000 000 currency.

I agree with other suggestions.

Best regards

Use country power as variables for the cost, stronger country needs more money, set minimal cost, 500k cc i agree to prevent small countries getting coup, add "emperor" medal for dictator in empire countries with 60 consumtive days

IMO, the real objectives of these penalties and costs for the start of a coup seen to be to kill the whole thing.

The most important change that is needed is the CS requirement to start or fight in a coup or in a revolution.

Like in Real Life. Only domestic MU can start the coup lead by the country's nationals. Commander, 2nd commander and at least two among the captains should be citizens of the given country. Number of foreigners should be limitted, as there are hardly any examples of the coups wtih predominant participation of the foreign nationals. If they want to keep this update the way it is, they should be at least polite enough to remove words such as "coup" from description, because what we are having now resembles medieval war-bands moving from country to country and overthrowing regimes. The coups would also be more RL-like if there were some penalizing of the coups that fail. As in the RL, cups should be quite a risky business, therefore, the price of failure should be a bit higher than it is now. Without at least some of the Helen's suggestions implemented, changing the name of the game from Erepublik to Edictatorship would be the most apropriate update after this one. In a few months, there will be hardly any democracy left around.

Good suggestions, i think that you need to have citizenship of the country that has a coup in order to fight for dictators or for democracy. Everything else is fine.. :)
