Several issues ..

1) Why global? Most people write about coubtry, party, mu's etc.

2) You just gave a big finger to all of us who continue to stick around because of the meta aspect. We need to support it not disqualify it.

3) Limiting pictures to just three is hardly worth anyone's time. Journalist Contest or Writers Contest?

4) The meta is what keeps this game alive!

The English is not the language has more speakers.
it may be that more has been disclosed and know more people, but not the one that has more people who speak it.

Beat the Spanish to English, but in first place is the Mandarin, the second is to the Castilian and the third is for English.

I think it is not appropriate for the event you do not support articles written in Castilian, a language that exceeds the number of English speakers.

Picture limit is lame, word limit is also lame. If you are going to make it into a competition, people shouldn't be limited on the amount of content they want to put in an article. Also, don't post a thread wanting community feedback if you're just going to shoot down everyone's feedback. Again, regarding the word count, this post here is only 112 words long. This means that this thread is 11.2% of the cap for an article. That's child's play. There are threads in congress proposing ideas that are longer than that. If you're looking for articles that have no content in them I can't see giving a reward for it.

Well, it sounded like a good idea, until i read this:

This is a contest, so parameters are required to make it challenging and bring people out of their usual comfort zones.

If the articles are really good than we could also consider sending it by email or making it featured so that all new, old players can see what happened in the previous week.

It is a journalist competition hence the limit on the number of pictures.

So the motivation is that players to write "promotional" content, which you can spam to all who quit or are thinking on joining?

I also fear for the quality of the contest since I saw a large decline in solid articles over the last year, mainly because most of the players who were invested enough or had enough knowledge to produce good articles quit the game because of its state.

But lets see how it turns out, and how long it last.

You still get a thumb up for trying something new, and at least on first look, not entirely made for earning $$$.

Terms & Conditions ( Rules )
- External Links are not allowed but Internal ones are. E.g. a link to an article in-game is allowed but a link to an external article isn’t allowed.

I like this, but object to the limitation of in game articles. A lot of what goes on in eRepublik happens on outside forums -unfortunate but there it is, especially in America where our Congress is on the eUSA Forums; many of my articles contain links to threads on that forum. Allow those links and I am all for this contest.

If the global contest is successful will expand to local competitions as well.

I would love to send a good story covering the last 7 days to engage new, old and existing players. But it depends on the types of stories. Either way thank you for your support, the idea here is to do more such events.

The judges are humans, hence there has to be certain conditions for the contest otherwise it will be to wide and hard to judge. Will be expanding on the word limit but there will be a word limit.

Better if Organizations can take a part in this contest. Then in case of eventual reward the gold will be given to the Org and it will be used for good purpose. Example of Party Orgs and Party Newspapers (all in eAustralia)

regarding post publication edits.
very often typos and poorly phrased sentences are not detected in draft, but are seen in the published article and then changed on-the-fly.
I suggest that contest entries should be submitted of the final edit of the article, after the editor is confident that everything is just so.

First, sorry for my english.

I want to say about the number of images limit, i understand the reason, but it limits a lot of good articles that are not necesary copy-paste of pictures.

For example, i made articles with much effort but its base is in Excel, so i upload all in images: http://www.erepublik...-5-2538865/1/20

With this rules, i cant compete

About the language, i disagree but i understand the complexity of all local languages. If you allow the image point i could make a try writing it in English....
