Dear Citizens,

The New Year has brought significant changes in the eWorld!

Starting Day 2,979 the election validation will be extended to 24 hours. This means that on Day 2,979, at Day Change, the election validation starts and it lasts until Day 2,980 at Day Change.

During these 24 hours the votes will be displayed and updated according to the checks made.

Throughout the election check period the old Presidents, Congress members or Party Presidents keep their seats. The alerts and rewards will be sent to the winners at 00:00 eRepublik time when the checking period is over and the new Presidents/Congress members/Party Presidents will step into office.

We greatly rely on volunteers when it comes to elections. As in most cases the check falls on a morning/early afternoon for us, we are slightly limited staff wise, hence, the 24 hours check will allow us to check the elections in more thoroughly.

I for one thought that the checking is done with scripts. From what you are saying there are people who decide which vote is valid and which one is not.

As much as computers or scripts can be great, a machine cannot physically verify this kind of details as thoroughly as a human being can do.

There are various policies and checks in place, to make sure that the same quality of checks made by the moderators is made across all of the countries and all adhere to the strict guidelines. .

No one from the administration can remove votes. A vote will only be removed if the voting citizen has been permanently suspended.

As Dibex said you have 30 days in a month when you can check the accounts and ban them.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut you only do that if a contact message is send to report the accounts or... if that account votes.

Where's the logic in that?

The goal of this update is to maximize the integrity of all elections in eRepublik. Multies have been and are being checked between elections too, but some of them become apparent only during elections. I am sure that most of the players wish to have cleaner elections, and with this change that is possible.

Why don't you clean the game of multies in this case?

Suuure you do. You want a list of 50 multies registered 2-3 weeks ago that are still active?

Wait... why the hell do I even bother with your updates?

You always do what you want, when you want and how you want.

it's your game not the players game.

If players won't like it they will leave no matter how you boost the active players' lists, how many useless competitions with crappy prizes you organize, or what visual updates you make for the "buy gold" button.

Of course, this is the truth. Besides making money in any way possible, every game wants to have the most number of account (even if it gets inflated by muties during elections).

 

How has this game survived this long, is a mystery to me
