I believe that the player is actually Italian, so finding a translation in Romanian may be a slight over exaggeration.
We don't consider the word "stupid" to be classed as offensive or vulgar. When it comes to names, these are treated very similar to how any other content is treated, such as articles, comments, posts etc. Using the word "stupid" would not be illegal in any of these, hence we would not consider it as illegal in a name either.
At the same time, we don't remove content or request a name change based on the amount of people who vote for it. All content and names are moderated as per the Rules Addendum and the Terms of Service. Thus, the decision in this case will not be changed I'm afraid.
Stupid.

The Court of Cassation judgment No. 37566 of 27 November 2013 (37566/2014), which confirmed the first instance and appeal, ruled that: "... the spoken sentences were deemed offensive contents describing the recipient as inept and incapable ... "and sentenced the accused that he had used the word" inept ".
Anyone can find the ruling on the internet with a google search.
That is an inept offense is so certified and indisputable.
The problem is to know why the admins do not intervene to put an end to the offense.

In Italy, the law punishes people who insult with the name "inept"
Unfortunately eRepublik is not an integral part of the European Union
