I like Irish music mainly because it has kept many of its Indo-European elements to it.  This can also be said of Polish and Italian music too.  A lot of the modern Western European music has been simplified into a American sounding pop shit sound.  Polish, Irish and Italian music are three styles of Western music I can think of off the top of my head that have kept many of the old European sound to it.
