A Safe Spot For New Players, Without Harming The Old Ones

Dear players and eRepublik team, 

after hearing some feedbacks from my fellow citizens, I am submitting you a proposal to help improving the game for newbies without harming any category of players and without changing the balance of any of the modules/features.


The proposal is summarized in this article:



It would consist of putting a "Mayhem" round every 4 rounds in a battle, more or less like it is for air battles. In those rounds the strength would be capped, without adding the terrains rule (which is good for the strategy but really hard to face for new players who would have one only terrain where they can make the difference) and without implementing divisions there. Those Mayhem rounds would give 22 points, like air battles, becoming the source of 1/3 of the total ones. Those rounds would have epic battles, based on the number of hits and not on the total damage.


I think that this would help the general balance of the game.

The main benefits of this proposal would be:

1) the new players would have the possibility to make the difference in a "safe spot", in a not so long time. 
2) the old players would save most of their rounds to chase each other and take medals (maybe they'd have a bit more competition)

3) all the packs would retain their effectiveness and their value towards buyers

4) many more players would find a place in the military module, so the interested customers base would increase


I have thought of only one side effect of this proposal and it is that D1 ordinary battles would probably have less fighters, but this is generally prevented from the chances given from Maverick Pack. 


Let me know if this seems a good idea to eRepublik crew. I'd really like to help thinking of the pros and cons.

I think the idea is good.
Although where would the battles Mayhem? If every 4 rounds there is an airbattle and every 4 rounds there is a Mayhem?
In addition both the airs and the Mayhem would give 22 points, which means that a battle would end very quickly, in two Mayhem and two airs you would get 88 points. It seems to me that it is very quick to finish a battle, it would encourage less and fewer open battles. I think a Mayhem could give 5 points as the div 4 or 10 points.

Shorter battles would probably be appreciated from Plato, since he pays AWS depending on the total traffic, and less battle around, less traffic.
Also, I wouldn't divide Mayhem rounds in divisions. Probably, in fact, D4 players would ignore them, and so would do the strong players of other divisions. I don't say that Mayhem battles would mean Misfits battle, but if the aim is to give a chance to everyone, this could work :D
