Here's my observed view of the party:

 

In practice, the Shinsengumi have generally taken an open approach to membership along with a mostly democratic methodology and structure.  All members are viewed as equals. Thus, Shinsengumi members tend to have varied political views in eJapan and tend to come from varied backgrounds (age, national origin, religion, gender, etc).  Nevertheless, party members will do their best to look out for one another and share a common fondness of communal living and fighting for a communal purpose.  The party's operations are fully integrated with the respective MU of the same name as well (sans the word party in the official title).  Said MU furthermore manages the largest open commune in the entire country.

The Shinsingumi also is dedicated for the betterment and well being of eJapan as a whole... not supporting onesided and self-interest groups and agendas.

The President Commander is supreame leader of both MU and Party, and due to long time experience in the game... helps guide our Clan to stay true to our values...
