Basically, this would still all run off the usual elections for country presidents.

1) Players would vote on the 5th of each month for their country presidents.

2) If a candidate gains a majority then they would become CP.

3) If a candidate does not get a majority then they must form a coalition government with 1 or more candidates. They would do this via a special page and would have 5 days to form a coalition government.

4) If a coalition is formed then the candidate(s) that it was formed with would be immediately appointed vCP(s), the CP would not be able to replace them unless the vCP(s) were impeached by congress.

5) If a coalition does not get formed then CP from then a 2nd round of voting would take place 3 days later with the top 2 candidates from the 1st round progressing! (The prior months CP would rule until this 2nd election was over)

This would open up a whole new political ball game with deals constantly being made between political parties and could make the game a lot more exciting. The 2 rounds of voting is basically a second ballot system for the eRepublik CP elections...thoughts?

Restoring regional politics would also improve the game just a bit more.

Kinda hard... especially in countries who suffer from PTO

Well, since eRepublik is made with "fixed" dates, this is not possible. I mean, yes, it is good idea, but, it wouldn't do much in small countries, or ones under PTO.

Sure, you can technically force the CP to 'choose' cabinet members from other parties, but since all the power is with the CP and not the cabinet members [who are barely even recognised by ingame mechanics], it would not change anything. Besides, countries have forums not on the erepublik website - it's not like such a change can be enforced.

tl;dr no, you cannot even enforce this.

The idea is a nice one but as the current system isn't able to enforce upon it, it will be useless.
