Proven scammers should be penalized and ultimately banned. It's pathetic that the eRepublik staff act like pussies. Why? Did GF Corleone buy (a lot of) gold? Can that be enough to accept so many scams? There are a lot of people who trade by donations and everything's just fine. I guess there aren't so many gold buyers so eRep can afford punishing players who abuse the game.

We've had this >9000 times now, if you donate, you donate. Make sure to not trade with scammers (this guy has scammed >9000 times now before, too), only make deals with people you trust, use the regular market and pay a bit more - or risk to get scammed, simple as that.

It's mostly about how the admins handle scamming. In cases such as GF Corleone, it should be a no brainer to punish or ban him. If the admins would care even as little as rat's ass, they would at least add a message to the donations page: "Only trade with people you trust, so you don't get scammed."

 

But nothing. They prefer to ignore the issue and reply with disregard to any common sense. Yes, people donating assume a risk but, as an admin, allowing someone to scam hundreds of people... you can no longer preach the "donate =/= receive anything in return".

Of course that scamms should be punished ! But lately, the admins are too lazy to do anything. Oh, and this Corleone guy is also known to swear people who defeat him at gorilla figts. Tasos Maximous posted screenshots with that, other people did it too. He should had been banned a long time ago.

Scammers make the people ragequit (forever) and lower the population.

Since the population is decreasing rapidly, the admins should do anything to prevent further damage.

So, yes. Scamming should be banned or prevented by game mechanics (contracts!!).

 

 

Also Scammers damage Plato financially.

When someone whants to buy a Pack/Stash from a Goldbuyer, but gets scammed,

Plato loses money. Money, the scammed one wanted to spend on a Stash/Pack, but can't anymore, because he lost it to a scammer.

Even worse: people don't even start trading Packs/Stashes because of the fear to get scammed!

Scammers with proof should be banned or else contracts should be introduced into the game where players can go on with free trade without being afraid of getting scammed!

They should receive some form of sanction. They are annoying and harmful to the community.

Well, the eRepublik administration randomly punish players for criticizing Plato for bringing new fail-features,

which are destroying the game, eventough they did not brake any existing rule.

 

Why not doing the same with Scammers?

They don't break any rule, but are stealing money from players and Plato. (when the money was needed to buy Stashes/Packs)

Just ban them and avoid the other 99% of the users to leave the game and stop paying for it.

This whole game is a scam.  The admins dont want a real economy in the game, because that would mean less people paying real money for fake money...

This kind of scam is hurting the -already non existent!- gameplay, so it has to be controlled through some kind of -ingame- system,....perhaps sth like karma points? (or name them the way you want!)

the trade is on black market, so ther are risk, it is not Plato foult, the best solution remove donate button, will be no more scamers, no black market, every player is equal, end maybe fix the economy )

Anyway don't worry. He will try to send you the money, but you will be at least 100 years old and will not care if he does send them indeed. He did not write "I will pay tomorrow", right? Even if he did- he is at the south pole and you have to wait up to 1.9 years
