On Tuesday, Day 2,387, a change to the “Transport route to capital” rule will be introduced. The change will be implemented shortly after the Day Change.

Resource bonuses for distant regions

Before, in order to gain a resource bonus from a region, the region had to have a direct connection to the capital.

After the change, countries will benefit from regions which don’t have a direct route to the capital. Instead of the standard 20% resource bonus, countries will gain a bonus of 10% from distant regions.

A picture of the Country Economy page:

A few examples:

- If a country has Grain, Cattle and Fruits with a direct connection to the capital, and fish as a distant region, the combined resource bonus will be 70%.

- If a country has, for example, many Cattle regions and some of them are connected to the capital while some are not, the country will still receive a 20% resource bonus from Cattle as it did before.

Please notice that this change won’t remove the promised 50% minimum production for the Founding Fathers of the new countries.

Feel free to post feedback and questions! :)

So it looks like 2 distant regions with the same res won't add up to make it 20% ,but can you make that clear?

Nice, it makes more sense to build colonial empires now.

Not so bad, but I had prefered an air bridge, a region "connected" with the capital after a landing of an airstrike serving as the invasion base to attack the rest of the regions and achieve the others production bonus (+20%) from there.

The core mechanic here won't change. 2 or 10 distant regions with the same resource will still be 10%. Just like it was now with 20% bonus.

Well, that's a nice update in my opinion. Not to mention that now countries can conquer regions anywhere they want and still enjoy half of the resource bonus .. Airstrike may be even more effective now.

So basically, constant airstrikes on rubber regions, and small countries will be constantly wiped. Sounds like an amazing update once again.

What you have in mind is a military feature.

This is an economical matter.

And think about it, 10% isn't that bad of a number for a region that isn't your own.

^This

It's all part of the same plan that started with new countries being added. First they added those countries, and then give random cs to everyone. So this nations were born divided and with the threat of PTO. They also gave some good bonus to this new countries and place them in the middle of old war routes. As if it wasnt enough they change war rules, so now this new countries can be attack almost immediately, even before forming their first government. And just for excusing themselves they gave full protections to new countries capitals, but those are the regions with the worst bonus ( fruit and Cuba, Armenia and Georgia and gran at Nigeria).

They even admit part of this plan when saying that new countries could only be attacked by airstrike so then everybody will have the same opportunity of getting new regions (Petsku said it). And now, to complete the circle you can get bonus without direct route ;)
