"How Plato's hair turned grey"

Plato used to be a very healthy man. Despite his age, he was a brunet without a single grey hair. He lived a happy life, flooded by rivers of cash made from selling wombat stashes. If only had he known what was coming...

On Friday 13th at 13:13 hours, a hacker broke into the Visa and Mastercard system network and completely melted their servers. It took weeks to restore them back to work. In the meantime, Romper and HerrVodka, among other top customers, weren't able to buy gold. They gave up on pursuing the mythical Titan*** rank and left the game for good. Investors withdrew from the eRepublik business and Plato was left with debts, facing imminent bankruptcy. He turned completely grey in just one night. Even Lena couldn't recognize him the next morning. Now he's selling war stashes, hoping to recover from the losses.

I liked the "Plato and the Escaped Pumpkin" story.. and made a side story of my own with some twisted real events happend in our eRepublik community from the beggining till now. Hope you like it and I think it can be a Halloween story in front of fire ;)

Once upon a time, in a bright flourishing fairytale land with enchanting legends, brave warrios and happy people was born a little boy named Plato. From the beginning, Plato wasn’t just an ordinary boy, he had great ideas that exceled even the elders from his land, a smart boy that someday will rule the kingdom. But behind all his unprecedented skills, his only friend was just a normal pumpkin, the only one who knew all of his feelings and regrets. Year, after year Plato kept himself from revealing his true identity but that pumpkin knew it all.

In one terrifying Halloween night, enough was enough, Plato was overwhelmed by the all the requests from all over the land, kings, ordinary people and also  his family used him. All that anger and no one to listen him, with tear in his eyes, the only words before he went to sleep were: “You are the only one that understand me, Pumpkin… you are my only friend.” But, Plato didn’t know that his words can be magical, but not only in a good way.

The next day, a screaming sound woke Plato, the sound of agony, of despair… Pumpkin was alive, but not as he expected. Pumpkin took all of Plato’s hatred and started to slay everyone that withstand him. Years had passed, Pumpkin became the king of the land, a land of slavery, obedience but Plato, the creator of this beast realized that the one how can slay Pumpkin was him because he created him. The plan was simple, capture him and send him in the tallest and most protected tour of the kingdom: The Golden Tower – a mysterious tower that was surrounded by headless chickens, vicious creatures of the New World that sounded like thousands of screaming souls that were stolen.

After months of hard thinking, the plan was ready, the only weakness of the Pumpkin was golden coins. The Pumpkin was closed in The Golden Tower but not for so long, his evilness was no match for the guardians of the tower and escaped to seek for revenge with the help of his new aids.

It’s said that every contest or every mission that was lately on eRepublik, was just a fighting between Plato and Pumpkin!

The Chickenless Head

At the dark woods of Transylpublik (not the scariest name, but the best i can think of now), Mr. Plato, the farmer, lived alone after his wife, Lana, was missing.  Probably she just gave up that poor bastard. Mr. Platos love was never enough to her.

cwuv.png

One night, he was inside his poor shack, after taking care the crops and feeding the few livestock he still had, he was going to sleep, more late than usual.

He fell asleep aside his chicken, the only animal that was not meant to be food. That chicken was his only company since his wife was gone, always very affectionate with him.

He woke up in the middle of the night, after a nightmare. His only friend was not there.

He got his hunting knife to go look for his chicken. Outside his shack there was it, staring at him, expressing no reaction. He approached, slowly, whispered trying to call its attention.

The chicken's eyes turned bloody red and it charged against Mr. Plato. Scared as hell, he swung his knife cutting the chicken head with only one blow.

He took the severed head in the ground, he couldn't cry yet. Terrified with a laugh coming from someone in front of him. He lifted his gaze. It was an eldery woman.

- I tought that turning your wife into a chicken was enough to watch you kill and feed on her. But it didn't happen. So i had to mess up with her mind in order to see some action.

Mr. Plato stood in front of that witch. Speechless.

- How do you dare to stand in front of me like this? You should keep yourself on your knees. I'm not done making your life miserable.

Then she disappeared as a shadow in the darkness.

The headless chicken started to move. In some time, the hole upon its neck  was still bleeding, but now was letting some air flow. It was breathing again!

Plato and the escaped Pumpkin

Plato was the last living man on Earth after a catastrophy when Trico, N4zGuL, Romper, Siliny Udar and Argrob dropped their nukes and bombs at the same time, executing all mankind at once.

One night, Plato was sitting in front of his computer, checking eRepublik's facebook page for a new comment and hoping for at least 1 survivor, but like all the other nights for one long year, he saw nothing but emptyness.

And then the unbeliveable happened. The door slowly opened behind Plato and a dark shadow appeared on the floor as the crateure was approaching slowly. Bad luck for plato, it was a zombie Pumpkin with a cursed Batzooka haunting and hunting the last survivors.

Plato's last words were heard: "You are my creation you son of a...!!!!!!" , but the pumpkin pulled the cursed trigger kit and the whole planet became silent forever.

This short story participates in the Halloween Community Contest

Title-->Headless  Chicken:  The  Beginning

Through the pumpkin garden the witch limped. She was breathing heavily, adequate proof of her failing health. The skeleton guard beside her – an imposing figure by all means – had no problem matching her pace and escorting her through the toxic fumes of some of the garden's most bizarre experiments. There was a strange pair, those two. The magical shackles which bound the skeleton and his broadsword in the witch's service were potent enough. On the other hand, the old hag, having a frail body, was completely dependent upon her spells in order to continue living. Servitude was an ever obedient tool.

Several hundred heartbeats later, they left the garden behind them and their feet came in contact with the black soil of the barren field which surrounded the old woman's abode. She halted and gazed at the midnight sky. There was a full moon reigning and the constellations of Reaver and Sceptre – invisible to the uneducated mind – were surrounding it. Everything was in place.

Kneeling with difficulty she turned her attention to the skeleton warrior and he in turn gave her the small, wooden box which had carefully held under his left arm during the long walk. The dim light was no problem for the witch. Her magic-enhanced senses allowed her to discern the box's moth-bitten sides and its rotten edges. She placed it in front of her and lifted the lid. A small chicken and a rusty knife lay inside.

It was weird, the witch thought, how the humans discover secrets and, unable to comprehend them, give them a new meaning. They try to impose rules to the unknown and create traditions based on arcane rituals.

She scoffed at the people's presumptuous interpretation of Halloween. A period of astral convergence and increased spiritual activity had degraded to idiot costumes, pranks and mobs of loose children. Ignorance was the true enemy of everything mystic.

With that in mind, she watched the chicken. It had a simple mind, not equal to the task of sensing the immediate danger. The witch grabbed the old knife and plunged it deep into the animal's neck. Her hands kept the spasmodic chicken's body in place while she took care that the blood would soak the earth. Moments passed and the life essence of the now dead chicken had all fell upon the ground. Seeing this, the old woman buried the knife into the wet soil and recalled the words she needed to say.

          ''One for the dead

Two in the earth now red

          In this blackest night

          Make this body right.''

Her incantation complete, she saw her knife shine blue. That's when she sensed something behind her. Turning around, she gasped because a headless figure riding an enormous horse was looking down at her. It was as if he had been created out of thin air. The horseman's hand unsheathed an iron sword and before the witch could even blink, the newcomer attacked. The savage strike splintered the skeleton guard. Bones scattered everywhere and just like that, the skeleton warrior was no more.

''What...what are you?'' the witch rasped. Her voice was a mere whisper, wheezing out of her lungs.

Either because the horseman couldn't speak or because the witch didn't deserve an answer, her question remained motionless in the air. But not for long. The iron blade came forward again and with a great swing, the horseman sought to decapitate the old hag. Her magical resistances melted before the attack and she felt something sharp biting into her neck. She felt no more.

As the headless horseman stood above the two corpses, he pondered how stupid some people are to think they can bend the laws of magic to their benefit. Eternal youth was hunted by many, conquered though by very few. By those who well understood the notion of sacrifice. A head was a small price for immortality. A head, as well as the irresistible urge to hunt down witches and warlocks in order to offer special souls to those waiting beyond.

He got down from his horse and surveyed the scene. He stood motionless for a little while, surrounded by silence. Suddenly, he bended and his ironclad hand grabbed the dead chicken. A brutal twitch separated head from body and he let both bloody parts fall to the ground. More silent moments passed with the horseman standing still.

It was one hour after midnight when a brilliant blue flare emanated from the rusty dagger which was lying besides the killed witch. The blue energy left the the weapon and surrounded the headless chicken. Which, with a sudden jerk, bolted upright and running as fast as it could, vanished into the night.

The headless horseman didn't waste more time. He climbed once more upon his horse and spurred it into a trot. All in all, it was a good and eventful night. His...prank had lightened his mood, if a creature such as he had one. After he left, the silence of death ruled on the witch's regime.

(After mindless wandering, the headless chicken now plagues our eworld)
