Maintenance for cities?

I've been playing since 2013. Just came back too. I saw the city module and thought cool. I saw the mayor thing and was like, "omg, this is awesome" and then I try to find info on becoming a mayor. Look at the updates and it's almost a year old with "In the coming weeks" There was a time where I probably would've spent some money on erepublik but with how little the staff actually do, I'm not paying.

I have a decent and logical explanation for this matter. Here we go:

 

 

“Suppose,” began Plato, “that you give me a 10-week head start. Would you say that you could cover that 10 weeks between us very quickly?”

“And in that time, how far should I have completed the elections module, do you think?”

 

“Perhaps all of it,” said the players after a moment’s thought.

 

“Very well,” replied Plato, “so now there is a week between us. And you would catch up that distance very quickly?”

 

“Very quickly indeed!”

 

“And yet, in that time I shall have delayed a little way farther, so that now you must catch that days up, yes?”

 

“Ye-es,” said the players slowly.

 

“And while you are doing so, I shall have delayed a little way farther, so that you must then catch up the new days,” Plato continued smoothly.

 

The players said nothing.

 

“And so you see, in each moment you must be catching up the new days between us, and yet I—at the same time—will be adding more days, however small, for you to catch up again.”

 

“Indeed, it must be so,” said the players wearily.

 

“And so you can never catch up,” Plato concluded sympathetically.

 

“You are right, as always,” said the players sadly—and conceded that they will never have the new module.
